Best PSUs for RTX 3080
PSUs play as important a role in your computer as anything else. If you don’t choose an efficient, high-quality PSU, you won’t have to worry about hardware failures or burn out. Investing in a high-quality PSU is recommended. Power supply units vary in wattage as well as efficiency, so if you have enough power for your computer, it will be stable and you won’t experience any hardware failures. In general, higher wattage 80+ Bronze power sources are usually better than lower wattage 80+ Platinum power sources. Best PSUs for RTX 3080 can deliver 550W or more power to your all components on the motherboard to ensure your PC works perfectly
At a minimum, Nvidia recommends a 750W power supply for the RTX 3080, but this recommendation is subject to change. One of the main reasons is that Nvidia’s recommendations are based on its own Founders Edition GPU and may not necessarily apply to all third-party versions. Based on the overclocking settings and cooling system, MSI and Asus cards may have different specs and requirements. Therefore, if you have a 650W PSU, you might be able to meet the GPU’s requirements. On the other hand, if you have an old PSU and it only supplies less than 650W, you may need to consider another solution.

Review
In this review, we let you in on one of Corsair’s most recent power supplies, the RM750X. The RM750X is a 750W power supply that meets your needs without breaking the bank.
ETA-A certification and 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating make the RM750X a very efficient power supply. A LAMBDA-A+ certification means that the RM750X has a noise output of approximately 15dB, making it one of the quietest PSUs on the market.
Corsair also reduced the size of this model by reducing its length to 160mm, allowing it to be easily incorporated into small PC cases. The high efficiency also means smaller temperatures, so no large heatsink is required. Even when running at full load, the silent 135mm fan keeps noise to a minimum.
With a full array of protection features, no PSU is worthy of an RTX 3080 GPU. Luckily, Corsair equipped this power supply with everything you need to keep your system safe. In case something goes wrong, the RM750X comes with a 10-year warranty. It is protected against overvoltage, overpower, overtemperature, short circuits, and surges. With six PCIe connectors and two EPS connectors, this modular power supply is easy to set up. Corsair also added eight four-pin Molex connectors as peripheral connections. Review
When we think of good-quality motherboards, GPUs, or laptops, we usually think of Asus, but they have recently started offering premium power supplies as well. In order to be a viable RTX 3080 setup, the ROG Thor 850W platinum-rated power supply comes with a premium price tag.
For PC users who appreciate top performance and efficiency, this power supply is an excellent choice. In addition to displaying your machine’s power consumption in real-time, it also comes with a few extras you don’t normally find. In addition, it also includes the Aura Sync RGB lighting system, allowing the user to synchronize all the other components that are benefited by this feature.
It has a low-dB quiet mode that you can activate using a switch at the back, near the on/off button. Thor’s efficient design extends to its cooling fan as well. As long as high temperatures are not reached, the fan will start spinning. You should be able to run something demanding without having to worry about the power supply getting hot since it has efficient heatsinks. Even so, this PSU is LAMBDA-A+ certified, which makes it quite quiet at around 15 decibels. Also, Thor can be configured completely modularly with only the cables you need. Cables are sleeved for extra protection. Also related: Best PSUs for RTX 3060

Toughpower’s GF1 also comes with an 850W option, but this mid-range option should be sufficient for most systems running the RTX 3080 and rated at 80 Plus Gold efficiency. You can use the GF1 to create a neat system with minimalistic cable management. All the cables that come with this PSU are thin, so you don’t have to waste any space setting up a modern system. Also, the back panel was designed specifically to match the sleek cabling included in the package, which means it has as many ports as the sleek cabling.
No RGB or OLED panels make the GF1 stand out, just an efficient power supply that’s ready to go. However, it has a “Smart Zero Fan” switch that makes it stand out from many other PSUs. Using this feature, the fan will only turn on when the power supply is loaded to 30%.Its overall quality of components, efficiency, and low ripple scores set the Toughpower GF1 apart from the competition in its price range. Despite being rated as 80 Plus Gold, this power supply pushes into Platinum efficiency territory, but not quite enough to earn it. However, its ripple noise is under 30mV, which doesn’t pose any problems. This power supply’s low voltage variation adds to its performance and reliability. Read more on Best PSUs for Nvidia RTX 3070

As a result, it was often used in builds with two GTX 980 TI graphics cards and was designed specifically for systems using two graphics cards. Therefore, it could spare up to 500W just for graphics cards without a problem, so a beefy CPU and RTX 3080 should be more than enough to run it. When ECO mode is enabled, the fan will only start when the power supply reaches 45°C, so there will be no noise at all when running light processes.
There is also plentiful cabling included in this package, including two EPS connectors, six PCIe connectors, ten SATA and Molex connectors. Do keep in mind, however, that only four of the six PCIe connectors are 6+2 pin connectors, while the other two are 6-pin connectors. In conclusion, this platinum power supply is an excellent piece of hardware, but its price is not to be overlooked.

Review
As a high-efficiency Gold-rated power supply capable of handling high-end GPUs like the RTX 3080, this PSU is designed to provide value as well as performance. The modular design of the PSU gives us a variety of options, while the cables provided are at least 500mm in length, so we shouldn’t have problems building a bottom-mounted PSU PC.
In terms of ventilation, it relies on a honeycomb case design, with a 140mm low noise fan, but it doesn’t come with a fan switch that can turn on a 0dB setting. A non-RGB build can also be programmed or turned off using multiple RGB lighting modes.
There isn’t much to complain about with the RGB-750, it’s an excellent power supply at a reasonable price and it’s well-guarded against electrical hazards. The biggest downfall is that it only comes with a 5-year warranty.
Seasonic Focus Plus 550 Gold~Best PSUs for RTX 3080

Specifications
Form factor: ATX | Capacity: 550W | Efficiency rating: 80 Plus Gold | Modularity: Full | Warranty: 10 years
Key Features
Design that eliminates cables
The fan can be controlled silently in three stages
With a length of only 140mm, this design is compact
Supports multiple GPUs
Gold-plated connectors
Review
The Focus Plus power supply from Seasonic is small, modular, and has a Gold efficiency rating, which makes it hard to resist. In a small box, this power supply offers a lot of power and efficiency. We save a lot of space in our PC case with its compact design, measuring 140mm in length, so better ventilation is achieved. The downside, however, is the smaller 120mm fan, which will be a little noisy when fully loaded.
In addition to offering us as much silence as possible, Seasonic’s three-phased ventilation control system also makes this PSU more special. The system operates in three stages of cooling. Under 30% load, the PSU operates in fanless mode, using passive cooling alone. Once about 50% load is reached, the fan will turn on silently. This intelligent cooling system is controlled by a button located next to the power switch of the power supply. It increases the fan speed gradually as the load increases from 50% to ensure optimal temperatures. It is not necessary to press the button to use fanless mode, but pressing it will always turn on the fan. If you want to use all three modes, don’t press it.
As the cable runs are long enough for larger cases, cable management should not be a problem with the package. The package includes two EPS connectors and four PCIe connectors so we can use a premium motherboard with a high-end GPU like the RTX 3080.

An efficient layout for LLC resonant circuits
Fan with double ball bearings
Fan switch with eco mode
Review
In addition to being a compact, fully modular and Gold-certified power supply from EVGA, the SuperNova 750 GA is also a powerful, compact, fully modular power supply. As long as a Threadripper CPU doesn’t push it to the limits, it will certainly power a system equipped with an RTX 3080.
With only 150mm in length, the GA edition doesn’t sacrifice the size of the fan, which measures 135mm. In addition, the power supply is equipped with an eco-mode on/off switch that turns the fan off when loads reach 40%.
Fully modular cables are included as well, allowing for Nvidia SLI and AMD Crossfire compatibility on this PSU, but that wouldn’t be a good idea if you had a couple of 3080s.
NZXT C750~Best PSUs for RTX 3080

NZXT C750 PSU (2022) – PA-7G1BB-US – 750 Watt PSU
NZXT C750 – NP-C750M – 750 Watt PSU – 80+ Gold Certified – Hybrid Silent Fan Control – Fluid Dynamic Bearings – Modular Design – Sleeved Cables – ATX Gaming Power Supply – 2020
Specifications
Form factor: ATX | Capacity: 750W | Efficiency rating: 80 Plus Gold | Modularity: Full | Warranty: 10 years
Key Features
The main cables are sleeved and completely modular
The casing measures 150mm in length and is compact in size
Switch for zero-noise cooling
Software for monitoring included
Review
If you are planning to build a RTX 3080 with an i7/Ryzen 7 CPU, we suggest the C750 Power Supply. Anything beyond this might overtax the power supply during intense gaming and tasking.
However, because of its small size, the 120mm fan occasionally struggles under heavy loads, causing it to become somewhat noisy. We cannot say anything bad about its power output or efficiency. It is also possible that the zero noise cooling mode goes unnoticed due to the fact that it is only activated at very light loads.
As a final point, the price isn’t the best when compared with similar stats on cheaper PSUs. This is likely due to the included power supply monitoring system, which, since free ones exist, is unnecessary.
Final Thoughts on Best PSUs for RTX 3080
In their test with a 10th-generation Intel i9 processor, which has an extremely high power requirement on its own, Nvidia recommends a 750W power supply for the RTX 3080, however this is based on their test using a 750W power supply. In some cases, you can get by with a 650W, especially if your PC is brand new. If that’s not the case, you can replace it with any of these power supplies. All of them can support the RTX 3080. Some of them will also work with the infamous Threadripper. Choosing the right PSU for your system and budget can be difficult, so make sure to weigh all your options.
