The best part about a pairing like this is that when overclocked, gaming performance is almost as good as the Xtreem’s. The only thing that runs slightly slower is artificial tasks and productivity work.

The Toughram kit comes with a lifetime warranty, but we have not encountered many that appear to be as robust as the one provided by Toughram. If you choose to eliminate black and replace it with outlandish colors like yellow or green, it can make them as colorful as the RGBs themselves. There are a number of options available, ranging from white to outlandish.
Thermaltake has split up the RGB stick into three segments, each segment separated by mirror-like bars that form the Thermaltake logo cleverly in conjunction with other parts of the stick. In addition to synchronization of lighting with all major motherboard manufacturers’ software, the company has its own lighting control system that is also a given.
In truth, Thermaltake did a wonderful job designing an easy-to-use user interface with some excellent features. Such features include temperature monitoring, lighting control, and even the ability to control lighting through your smart speaker if you have an Amazon Alexa device.
Steering Away From Samsung
Toughram is the first RAM in the guide not to use Samsung ICs when the spreaders are removed or used with Typhon Burner. It’s not bad that Thermaltake opted for SK and its C-die instead, which is not a bad alternative. With a frequency of 3600MHz at 1.35V and latencies set to 18-19-19-39, it’s definitely good enough for XMP setup. You can also increase the frequency by 400MHz without touching the timings.
Performance-wise, Toughram falls somewhere in the middle of the pack. When testing for framerates at various resolutions, though, it consistently occupies a spot somewhere in the top third.

Patriot Viper Steel

We have dealt with all the 5800X3D RAM so far, but the bling made it more expensive than it should have been. Patriot offers Viper Steel memory to cater to the cost-saving market segment. It isn’t as pretty to look at as other Ryzen 7 5800X3D RAM, but that’s fine, as it will still perform admirably in games as well as productivity-oriented applications.
Despite its barebones appearance, Viper Steel isn’t exactly ugly. The heat spreader is a bit unique with a gray background and sharp black accents. Speaking of sharp, there’s a fanged viper logo on each stick that adds character. You should not have to change anything about your cooling setup, but it’s a good idea to double check beforehand. The DIMMs are 45mm tall.
Patriot sells the Viper Steel in packs as large as 64GB, so gamers should find 32GB more than sufficient for the foreseeable future. With 32GB in each slot, you will be able to fit the RAM easily into micro-ITX motherboards within small form factor cases, and 64GB of Viper Steel memory is cheaper than 32GB of Xtreem.
Price Over Quality?
It is not surprising that the price disparity is due to differences under the hood. Viper Steel kits come with SK Hynix M-die, which has a lower overclocking ceiling and stability than B-die. As the XMP profile’s default setting is 3600MHz at 1.35V with CL18 timings, you’re in for a great out-of-box experience. Thankfully, the RAM’s only worthwhile drawback is the lack of meaningful overclocking options.
Based on testing, the Viper Steel is classified as a workhorse RAM. When compared to RAM with similar specs, it scores exactly or within a few frames. In contrast, Patriot memory performs significantly better when it comes to compression of files, reading & writing large amounts of data, or rendering in 3D.

For users who want their PCs to be admired and seen, G.Skill makes high-end designer RAM. In addition to its venerable RipJaws line, the company also caters to the thrifty crowd. The final DDR4 iteration offers good performance at an affordable price.
Style isn’t as important to RipJaws buyers as it is to Neo buyers, but the cheaper kit holds its own nevertheless. You won’t find RGB here, so the DIMMs will get styling from their heat spreaders. A beautiful matte black finish is applied to stamped anodized aluminum, which is raised into a slight arch and has two deep cuts on either side that serve as both decoration and surface area increasers.
As a final touch to the visual identity of the kit, a RipJaws V sticker completes the look. From online store pictures, it is unclear how short the RipJaws V sticks are at 41mm. Despite that, you should be able to use it along with any kind of cooler easily.
Comeback of a lifetime
The C-die from SK Hynix is featured in our article for the third time. You get it by enabling AMD’s version of XMP. You get 3200MHz, 1.35V power draw, and CL16. That’s only possible with AMD’s version of XMP. Make sure you do that if you don’t want to stay stuck at 2133MHz.
Having a decline in frequency negatively impacts the RipJaws’ competitiveness. Is this a problem? It is unlikely given the user profile that such memory was designed to appeal to. It seems reasonable to assume that those who want to save RAM will not give much thought to Resident Evil Village having a lower framerate potential or an additional few seconds of rendering time.

King fury is one best ram to pair with 5800x3d. It is fitting that Kingston’s Beast memory line is among its most affordable offerings, as DDR4 is nearing retirement, so it’s fitting that the last memory on this list is also one of the last to be released for it. Kingston is revamping their memory, and this memory is among the last to be released for DDR4. Now we’re going to check whether the alternative’s spot on this list is well deserved. We previously discussed the DDR5 version of this memory.
As far as its visual identity is concerned, you are not imagining things if you think that the Fury Beast is similar to HyperX RAM. Kingston has sold off some IPs while restructuring others, and HyperX RAM is one of the latter. Early models were known for their low-riding, subtly decorated DIMMs, which are still available. Although the iconic name has gone, we’re still able to expect them.
As you might expect, including serviceable RGB was no easy feat either, especially when it is known to drop below $80 during sales. In order to avoid obstructing tight-fitting CPU cooling assemblies, the Beast’s diffuser is low, reducing the impact on its tantalizing LED glow. By breaking the diffuser into smaller light points, several bands are located on either side to add further visual appeal. As well as keeping motherboard compatibility high, Kingston developed its own lighting software.

Nothing That Impressive
This kit’s tech specs page does not mention which die it uses but given the price and HyperX models in the past, we can assume Micron or SK Hynix is the manufacturer of the ICs. In either case, they are capable of holding the Fury Beast at 3600MHz, even at CL18 timings.
In spite of its novelty, the kit’s performance is old hat. The biggest change since the HyperX days is rebranding, as you’ll only notice it if you use stress testing and analytics software like Cinebench or AIDA64 to test your system. During a comprehensive battery of game tests, Fury Beast showed similar frame rates to other kits of its caliber, with a subtle increase in values.

Final thoughts on best ram to pair with 5800x3d
Ryzen 7 5800X3D provided the last stretch of upgrades for the AM4 platform with the much anticipated 3D V-Cache technology. It was an excellent, if somewhat late, SKU. For AMD users who may have been waiting for that final 300 series chipset upgrade to jumpstart older Zen 1 and Zen+ units, it remains a nice option even though its price and tier may no longer be logical for those who leapt into Zen 3 two years ago. In addition, AMD’s mid-tier DDR4 memory modules are also open to overclocking, allowing these old enthusiasts to use the latest DDR4 modules in their machines.
