The Razer Viper Ultimate is a wireless gaming mouse that is known for its ultralight design and high performance. It features Razer’s Speedflex cable for minimal drag, and Razer’s Focus+ optical sensor for accurate tracking. It also has customizable Chroma RGB lighting and 8 programmable buttons. Many reviews praise its lightweight design and fast response times, but some users have reported connectivity issues.
The Razer Viper Ultimate Ultralight Wireless is a gaming mouse that is designed for competitive gamers and esports enthusiasts. The mouse is incredibly lightweight at only 74 grams, which makes it one of the lightest wireless gaming mice on the market. This design helps to reduce fatigue during long gaming sessions and allows for faster and more precise movement.
The mouse uses Razer’s Speedflex cable, which is a braided cable that is designed to minimize drag and provide a more responsive feel. The mouse also uses the Razer Focus+ optical sensor, which is capable of tracking at up to 20,000 DPI and has 99.6% resolution accuracy. This sensor also has customizable lift-off distance and motion sync, which helps to improve tracking and cursor accuracy.

Razer’s Synapse software gives users a range of options for customizing the Viper Ultimate. This lets you re-program buttons, adjust DPI, and change a variety of other options. The button below allows you to create multiple profiles and select them. This is what makes it one of the best computer mouse.
The eight buttons in Synapse can be adjusted easily, and you can also add a Hypershift button. Upon pressing and holding the Hypershift button, you can then program a second action for all the other mouse buttons. In this way you can nearly double the number of mouse buttons you can program.
There are many other things you can do. There are many settings you can customize, including keyboard button presses, lighting levels, DPI levels, launching apps, and more. You can disable all the buttons individually if you do not need them.
Up to five different DPI levels are available between 100 and 20,000 DPI. Although we think that 20,000 is insane, we do appreciate the ability to adjust the settings to our liking. There might be some people whose wrist movements are just so wildly different than ours.

Additionally, you can customize power settings to put the mouse to sleep when not in use for a specific amount of time. Using the default settings, the Viper manages power well. However, if you need more than tweaks, this might help.
Razer’s Viper Ultimate gaming mouse is a capable, fast, accurate and high-end gaming mouse that offers some top-of-the-line features. The charging dock can be fiddly, and the side buttons are recessed, but it’s still a great mouse that you’ll enjoy.
You might have to pay a premium for a truly awesome wireless mouse, but that’s the price you pay when you want a one-of-a-kind device. You get what you pay for with the Viper Ultimate. Once bitten you’ll be smitten. Setting are important depending on the task at hand. For example, Warzone game has optimum setting on mouse to get the best performance possible.
With the Viper Ultimate, Razer has outdone itself yet again, delivering a slim, sturdy, and ambidextrous mouse that has nearly as much responsiveness as your standard wired mouse. Even though it’s light, it still feels like a tank – even though it’s so small and sleek. In reality, we don’t know how Razer managed to design a product that feels like it’s moving in circles without any real purpose, especially on a plastic mouse mat. Also related: Best Silent Mouse
Although it does not offer weights or a way to change the feel of its heft, the Viper Ultimate is still a very good choice if you do not want to sacrifice its smooth feel and responsiveness.
Razer’s stylized palm rest and matte, brushed black exterior hide its powerful interior under an unassuming exterior. The exterior of the model is made of slick and grippy plastic, and the scroll wheel is very responsive – not too fast, not too slow, though it comes on a little stronger than most other models’ wheels. The mouse takes some effort to use, but this adds even more to its premium status. Moreover, the ergonomic shape ensures ease of use for those who spend all day on the computer.

Razer Synapse software
Razer Synapse software lets you switch between left- or right-handed modes based on your hand position. In addition to the usual options for changing the color of the Razer logo on the mouse as well as how your charging cradle glows when it is almost fully charged, Razer’s proprietary software is easy to use. The price won’t be too high, though.

Razer claims the battery lasts up to 70 hours between charges, which is true. It took us about a week with the Viper Ultimate to notice that it drains extremely slowly when playing both games and going about day-to-day tasks. We liked it a lot more than our Magic Mouse for our MacBook Pro, since charging peripherals isn’t something, we typically do much of.
Sadly, one area in which it falls short is in its ability to customize buttons: it has left and right-click buttons, a scroll wheel that clicks, and two programmable buttons on each side. In any case, it’s capable of serving just about any gamer who doesn’t use macros or other abilities beyond the four that are available. I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate and satisfying clicking the buttons felt. All of them register, no matter whether you are testing them in twitch shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or aiming in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Focus+ Optical Sensor
Yet its aesthetic appeal is not the only factor contributing to its high quality. It’s easy to admire the mouse from a distance, but the Razer Focus+ Optical Sensor is what’s most impressive about it, and can be found in the larger, more customizable Basilisk Ultimate as well. A sensor can output up to 20,000 dots per inch/per centimeter, which is an impressive number. A number isn’t enough – you can feel the difference as soon as you pick up the mouse and begin using it.
A 650 inch per second tracking speed allows the mouse to keep up with your movements on screen, which is also lightning fast. Especially in rhythm and music games like Osu!, using this mouse is like using a stylus – its smooth, natural movements made me feel as though I was using one.
We definitely can attest to the fact that there is nearly zero latency with Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless technology. This has been our experience with this peripheral. When we tried out a round of Overwatch and switched between completing work-related tasks, it tracked beautifully as well, even when we placed it on top of the blanket we had wrapped ourselves in. We were surprised by how well it performed on a fleece throw.
Final thoughts of the razor viper ultralight wireless review.
Even though the Viper Ultimate is a strong performer in almost every category, one weakness may be a stumbling block for many users: the price. To be honest, $149/£149/AU$249 is an expensive price for entry. On the upside, you do get what you pay for. It is undoubtedly possible to find a comparable wireless mouse for less, but the Viper Ultimate excels in a number of key areas, including responsiveness, visual appeal, build quality, and battery performance.
If you’re a Razer fan, this is a no-brainer. If you’re looking for something different, the Razer Blade might take a bit of convincing, but you’ll end up with one of the best wireless gaming mice you will find right now, and one of Razer’s best.
